It's November 4, 2028, two days before the US presidential election, and news of a major scandal has broken about one of the candidates. Is it true or fake? I'll present a futuristic scenario in which journalistic organizations and misinformation purveyors battle each other and the clock using all the tools of generative and agentic AI, and show how the journalists can win—as long as the media industry and content platforms invest in the right tools.
