Nahjae Nunes is a UNICEF Innocenti researcher and policy leader, where he is leading a youth-authored chapter of The State of the World’s Children 2025; a landmark global report analyzing how economic justice and global shocks shape children’s lives. Previously, he served as Head of Youth Policy and Advocacy at the Commonwealth Secretariat, where he chaired the International Youth Taskforce and authored the Apia Youth Declaration, adopted by Heads of Government in Samoa as a framework for youth participation and child protection.
Earlier, he advised Jamaica and the Caribbean at the United Nations on human rights and humanitarian affairs and worked with the U.S. Department of Labor on child labour policy. His contributions have earned Jamaica’s Prime Minister’s National Youth Award for Excellence, the Governor General’s Achievement Award, and Fellowships of the Royal Society of Arts and the Royal Commonwealth Society.
At BRIDGE Summit, Nahjae will explore how youth leadership and policy innovation can work together to build fairer, more resilient systems for children worldwide.
