Sarah Dundarawy

Presenter, Al Arabiya

Sara Dundarawy is a prominent Saudi journalist and media pioneer, widely recognized as the first Saudi woman to appear on Al Arabiya Channel. With a BA in Mass Communications from Boston College and an MSc in Media and Communications from the London School of Economics and Political Science, she combines academic excellence with a groundbreaking career in journalism.
Sara joined Al Arabiya in 2005, beginning as a reporter and steadily rising through the ranks to become a senior presenter. Her media journey began with the pre-recorded health show Daleel Al Afya, but it was her long-running role on the popular morning show Sabah El Arabiya that solidified her presence in viewers’ daily lives.
She later launched her own show, Tafa3olcom—a groundbreaking format that elevated the standard for interactive programming across the Arab world. Covering a broad range of social, political, and human-interest topics, the show became a model for others to follow. Through it, Sara interviewed thousands of individuals, giving a voice to diverse perspectives and stories that often went unheard.
Renowned for her advocacy on women’s rights, Sara used her platform to raise awareness, influence policy, and inspire social change. At a time when few women were visible in Saudi media, she broke the glass ceiling and opened the door for future generations of female journalists. Her personal style, laid-back presence, and fearless voice have made her a role model and a respected figure in the region’s media landscape.
