Plestia Alaqad is an award-winning Palestinian journalist, writer, and activist known for her on-the-ground reporting from Gaza, which she began documenting in the early days of the Israeli bombardment in 2023. She gained international recognition for her viral social media videos and is the author of The Eyes of Gaza: A Diary of Resilience, a book based on her experiences. Alaqad has since evacuated Gaza with her family and is now based in Australia, continuing to advocate for Palestinian voices through her writing and speaking engagements.
