Alex Kobia
Africa Distribution Representative, Viory
Alex Kobia is a media and communications leader with more than 30 years of experience shaping broadcast and distribution strategies across East Africa and the Middle East. He currently leads Viory’s operations across Africa, driving regional expansion and global distribution capabilities. His career began at Kenya Television Network as a commercial producer and graphic designer, marking the start of a trajectory defined by innovation and industry building.
Alex has held senior leadership roles across multiple television networks and production operations, including Africa Media Group Limited. His expertise spans content distribution, technical and operational management, and executive direction, giving him a rare, end to end understanding of the media value chain. He later joined Al Jazeera, where he helped support the network’s international expansion and contributed to establishing key bureaus from Berlin to Islamabad.
At BRIDGE Summit, Alex will share insights on the future of African media, the role of regional content in global markets and how emerging networks can develop robust, scalable distribution models that unlock new audiences and commercial growth.
