Simon Song
Simon Song who is the Founder and CEO of VAST, was born in 1997 and graduated from Johns Hopkins University. He previously led multiple artificial intelligence projects from the ground up at SenseTime, achieving the commercial application of AIGC technology in the animation and gaming industries, and also participated in founding the general-purpose large-model unicorn MiniMax.
In March 2023, Song founded VAST, which now has a team of more than 100 members dedicated to building a universal content creation platform through the Tripo 3D large model. Within just two years, the VAST team has scaled from a startup to a global player, with annual recurring revenue surpassing USD 12 million. In June 2025, VAST completed a Pre-A+ financing round worth tens of millions of dollars. In August 2025, Tripo 3.0 was officially released, reaching roughly 20 billion parameters, significantly improving geometry clarity and texture detail.
