His creative vision and strategic foresight have positioned him at the intersection of storytelling, technology, and global collaboration.
Namit’s journey began in 1995 in Mumbai with a single Apple Macintosh computer and a small team of computer graphics tutors who shared his vision. His innovations revolutionized post-production in Bollywood, introducing groundbreaking technologies that reshaped the industry.
Expanding westward, Namit spearheaded Prime Focus’s global growth through a series of strategic acquisitions, bridging talent and innovation across India, the UK, and North America. In 2014, he acquired the acclaimed British visual effects studio Double Negative, rebranding it as DNEG and transforming it into a global powerhouse. Under his leadership, the company’s headcount has grown from 700 to over 9,000, adding divisions in animation, gaming, and virtual production.
In 2021, Namit led a $250 million investment from Novator Capital Advisers into Prime Focus subsidiaries, fueling DNEG’s continued expansion into new entertainment frontiers and original content creation.
Known for his hands-on leadership and commitment to excellence, Namit continues to push creative and technical boundaries while nurturing the next generation of artists and innovators shaping the future of visual storytelling.
