Gayane Afrikian

Gayane Afrikian is a senior economic adviser with over 30 years of international experience in shaping national strategies, developing high-growth sectors, and driving economic diversification. She currently serves as an economic adviser to the UAE National Media Office, working toward transforming the UAE media and entertainment sectors into globally competitive, high-growth sectors and building a world-class economic journalism ecosystem. She was educated at the Harvard Kennedy School, the London School of Economics, and Yerevan State University. She is a former award-winning journalist with Agence France-Presse, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Economist Intelligence Unit, and the Independent (London), and is the recipient of multiple international and government awards for outstanding public service and policy innovation.
