Eugene Tang is the Managing Editor for Business at the South China Morning Post (SCMP), where he oversees business coverage and special projects. With nearly three decades in financial journalism, including 14 years at Bloomberg News as a reporter, editor, bureau chief, and team leader in Malaysia, Japan, and China, he has helped shape how Asia’s markets and economies are reported to global audiences.

Fluent in Mandarin, Eugene has spent more than a decade living in mainland China, covering economic policy, financial markets, and major national events. Before joining SCMP, he was Asia-Pacific Product Director at Dow Jones & Co., overseeing Dow Jones Newswires and Factiva’s real-time content business.
