Joseph Oughourlian is the Founder of Amber Capital, which he established in New York in November 2005. Mr. Oughourlian began his career at Société Générale in Paris in 1994 and moved to New York in 1996. In 1997, he entered proprietary trading at Société Générale, leading to the creation of the first Amber Fund in October 2001 with seed capital from the Bank.
Mr. Oughourlian graduated from HEC Business School and from IEP (Sciences Po) in Paris, and earned an MSc in Economics from the Sorbonne in Paris. He currently sits on the boards of a range of companies.
He was appointed a director of PRISA in December 2015, became Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors in April 2019, and was appointed Chairman in December 2020.
