Jim Bankoff is the Co-founder, Chair, and CEO of Vox Media, a leader in modern media and home to brands such as Eater, Vox, The Verge, SB Nation, The Dodo, New York Magazine, The Cut, and Vulture. He oversees a diversified business spanning advertising, subscriptions, e-commerce, live events, and generative AI licensing. The Vox Media Podcast Network is one of the largest in the U.S., featuring shows like Pivot, Criminal, Today Explained, Stay Tuned with Preet, The Vergecast, and more.

Since co-founding Vox Media in 2011, Bankoff has grown the company through acquisitions and organic expansion, building it into a multi-platform powerhouse. He previously held executive roles at AOL, where he developed and led many of the early internet’s most notable brands. His work has helped define how high-quality journalism, culture coverage, and storytelling adapt to the digital age.
