H.R.H. Princess Lamia Bint Majed Saud AlSaud
Her Royal Highness Princess Lamia bint Majed Saud AlSaud is the Secretary General and a Board Member of Alwaleed Philanthropies, where she oversees global initiatives across 190 countries focused on empowering women and youth, alleviating poverty, and promoting cultural understanding. In 2024, she was appointed CEO of Rotana Media Group, home to Rotana Studios and Rotana Channels, marking her as one of the region’s most influential media leaders.
Under her leadership at Alwaleed Philanthropies, Princess Lamia has been honored with numerous international awards, including the Arab Woman of the Year Award for Achievement in Philanthropy, the Change Maker Award at the Aid & Trade Conference, and the People First Leader Award at the GCC GOV HR Awards. She has also received an honorary medal from the Vice President of Laos for her humanitarian work and an Honorary Doctorate from the University for the Creative Arts for her advocacy of gender equality and cultural dialogue.
Princess Lamia also serves as a UN-Habitat Regional Goodwill Ambassador for Arab States, UN Women Global Champion for Gender Equality, and a Member of UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited Champion Committee, reflecting her deep commitment to advancing opportunity and equity worldwide.
Before her philanthropic career, Princess Lamia founded the publishing house Sada Al Arab in Cairo, Beirut, and Dubai, and authored the acclaimed novel Children and Blood, which confronts the issue of honor killings and women’s rights in the Middle East.
