Dan Tapster is an 8-time Emmy-nominated showrunner whose career spans landmark natural history, science, and VFX-driven storytelling. He is known for leading MythBusters into a global phenomenon with more than 8 billion views and for his recent work as showrunner of Netflix’s Life on Our Planet.

Tapster began his career at the BBC Natural History Unit, contributing to series including Life of Mammals and Planet Earth. At Silverback Films, he has continued to push technical and narrative boundaries through works such as Perfect Planet and Our Planet. His signature approach combines cutting-edge visual effects with powerful scientific storytelling.
