Ahmed Hussain is a senior executive at the BBC and a leading voice in UK public service media, cultural transformation, and inclusive storytelling. As Head of BBC Asian Network, he has driven the station’s growth and positioned it as a bold platform for culturally resonant content. Under his leadership, the network won Gold at the 2024 ARIAS and earned international recognition for its investigative podcast Bloodlines.

In 2025, Ahmed led the network’s landmark relocation to Birmingham as part of the BBC’s Across the UK strategy; advancing creative decentralisation, regional investment, and diverse talent development. Previously, he pioneered media-led rehabilitation as Head of Prison Radio at the UK Ministry of Justice, and has held strategic roles across the Director-General’s Office, television, and outreach at the BBC.
