Sara Hamdan
Sara Hamdan is a Palestinian American author, journalist, and editor who has worked for The New York Times and served as an Editor in Chief at Google. She is the author of the debut novel What Will People Think, which received a Netflix story award and an Emirates Literature Foundation fellowship. The book has been recommended by The New York Times, Forbes, and Goodreads and was held up by Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, signaling its broad cultural resonance.
Raised in Greece and now based in Dubai, Sara holds degrees from the University of California, Berkeley and Columbia University. She has built a career at the intersection of journalism, storytelling, and tech, and recently joined as Editor in Chief of The New York Times T Magazine MENA, launching in early 2026.
