Rupert McPetrie
Rupert McPetrie is the CEO of GroupM China (WPP Media), where he leads one of the largest media organizations in the world’s most dynamic advertising market. Since taking the role in 2024, he has driven WPP Media’s transformation and market leadership, with media billings exceeding USD 7 billion and 42% market share among the Big 6, according to COMvergence.
Rupert has spent more than a decade in China, overseeing growth and innovation across the region. After joining MediaCom China in 2015 as CEO, he expanded his remit to Greater China in 2021, then became CEO of MediaCom Asia Pacific in 2022, leading the successful merger of MediaCom and Essence across 15 markets to form EssenceMediacom.
